Planning Board Meetings

The Baltimore County Planning Board Meetingsschedule is as follows:

Landmarks Preservation Commission Meeting

The Landmarks Preservation Commission meeting will be held on Thursday, January 9, at 6 p.m. in Room 104 of the Jefferson Building, 105 W. Chesapeake Avenue in Towson.

Traffic Calming on Woodbine Avenue, West Towson

Woodbine Avenue, between West Joppa Road and Woodbine Terrace, has qualified for speed humps. These traffic calming devices will be installed when weather permits. For more information, call the Bureau of Traffic Engineering

Water Improvements in Carney

Utility crews will begin replacing an old water line running under Harford Road in April. A new 12-inch replacement line will be installed on Harford Road between Cub Hill Road and a point 250 feet north of Joppa Road. Construction will cost $3.8 million and should be finished by the summer of 2015.

Traffic Calming in Rodgers Forge

Public Works is planning a pedestrian refuge island and pedestrian ramps at Stevenson Lane and Stanmore Road, plus new sidewalks to serve the rear of Rodgers Forge Elementary. Construction will be scheduled as weather permits.

Sewer Rehab in the District

Public Works began relining 10,822 feet of sewer line in Rodgers Forge in June. The project, which is part of Baltimore County’s agreement with the EPA to eliminate sewer overflows, will cost $663,000. Construction is scheduled to be completed in June 2014.

Bird River Pumping Station

Baltimore County is investing $2.57 million to improve the Bird River Pumping Station. Construction began in October 2012 and should be completed on April 10, 2014.

Water Construction on York Road in Towson

Baltimore County is replacing an old and troublesome water line that runs through York Road, between the Beltway and Washington Avenue. During construction, which began May 20, the old 10-inch line will be abandoned and replaced with new 20- and 24-inch diameter pipes. Crews have mobilized and about 35 percent of the project is finished. The line, costing $3.2 million, is expected to be completed in June 2014.
