In June (2007), Public Works began building a two million-gallon, water storage tank on the site of Chapel Hill Elementary to service the Honeygo area. According to engineers, the elevated tank - which will be 90 feet tall and cost about $4.7 million - should provide "pressure equalization during high-demand periods and help maintain adequate flow capacity for fire protection." Plans also call for a chlorination system as part of the project which will be finished in the spring of 2009. The tank's foundations were in place before the end of October and construction on the structure began in November. It is now 65 percent complete.
