Planning Board Public Hearing

The Baltimore County Planning Board will hold a public hearing on the Yorkway Planned Unit Development (PUD), PDM No. XII-153 as well as the Plinlimmon Planned Unit Development (PUD), PDM No. II-793. The Yorkway PUD is located on 12.38 acres in the 7th Councilmanic District on the N & S/S of Yorkway; N Shipway.

The PUD calls for 66 single-family detached dwellings. The PUD known as Plinlimmon is located on 105.06 acres of land in the 4th Councilmanic District at 9401 Lyons Mill Road; E Lyonswood Drive. The PUD calls for 646 dwelling units (mix of townhomes and multi-family buildings), as well as 24,000 SF. of retail/office and a community gathering space. Master Plan Amendment - Rural Areas - Public Input Meetings

The Office of Planning is amending the Rural Areas section of Master Plan 2010. The plan was adopted on February 22, 2000, and is slated for its decennial review and amendment. The plan will be amended in sections, beginning with the Rural Areas portion. Other sections will be revised over the next year and a half. Notices will be published regarding all future amendments.

The following public input meetings are scheduled to discuss the Rural Areas amendment to the Master Plan at the following locations:

Under Construction: The Dolfield Boulevard Bridge

Construction of the Dolfield Boulevard Bridge over Red Run officially began in early October. The $8 million structure, which will be 420 feet long, is part of a major long-range plan to provide traffic capacity for the expanding Owings Mills community. Engineers expect that construction, which will help link Lakeside Blvd. and Reisterstown Road, will require at least two years. Work is currently on schedule.

2000 Homes in Milford Mill Will See Better Water

County contractors will begin cleaning and re-lining water lines in the Milford Mill area this month between the Beltway and Milford Mill Road. In response to discolored water complaints, the Department of Public Works ordered the rehabilitation of 15,000-feet of old water line serving the area. The project, which will cost about $750,000, should be finished in July or August, add engineers, cautiously.

Four Roads in the District Qualify for Traffic Calming

Four residential roads in the District recently qualified for traffic calming: Cedarmere Road, North Ritters Lane, Lastgate Road and Paigeview Road. Residents along these streets received calming proposals in May from the Department of Public Works for review and community approval.

Stevenswood to get Speed Humps this Month

Residents of Stevenswood, south of Liberty Road, requested traffic calming for their community and have been approved for two speed humps. Construction is expected to begin this month.
