Big Falls Road Bridge to Reopen in November

The two-lane, Big Falls Road Bridge (No. 73) over the Gunpowder was closed a year ago in order to completely replace the aging structure. The 88-foot span was built in 1933 and the repairs have cost $1.8 million. Engineers expect the work to be completed in November. Information: enginrng@baltimorecountymd.gov.

Traffic Calming for Pot Spring Road

Residents on Pot Spring Road (ADC Map 19 D6) north of Bosley recently requested traffic calming for their street. Traffic engineers from Public Works have approved the street for calming measures and will submit plans to residents in November. Information: 410-887-3554.

Western Run Road Bridge Closed

Western Run Road Bridge (ADC Map 12 C-12) is being replaced. Work began in July and was scheduled for completion in October. The new bridge, which will cost $400 thousand, is running behind schedule because of a delay in materials. Engineers now expect completion in early December.

Mount Vista Road Bridge Open

Mount Vista Road Bridge over Sweathouse Branch near Harford Road has been reopened, following an extensive reconstruction, which began in June. Work on the two-lane bridge, which was completed ahead of schedule, cost $875 thousand. Information: enginrng@baltimorecountymd.gov.
