Pasturing and Stabling of Livestock – Public Input Meeting

A community input meeting is being held on Thursday, March 20, at 6 p.m. in Room 104, Jefferson Building, 105 W. Chesapeake Avenue in Towson, to gain input on the non-commercial raising and keeping of livestock, fowl or poultry on residential lots less than one acre, Council Resolution 73-13.

Please bring a written copy of your testimony to the hearing. Two minutes will be given to each speaker.

Hartley Mill Road Bridge is Now One Lane

The Hartley Mill Road Bridge (B-0039), over Long Green Creek, north of the Gunpowder Falls State Park, is now restricted to one lane of traffic.

Gore Mill Road Bridges

The concrete bridges, which span Little Falls just south of the Morris Meadows Recreation Farm, were constructed more than eighty years ago and three of the four have reached the end of their useful life, according to County structural engineers. One can be rehabilitated. Bridges B-0136, B-0138 and B-0346 are scheduled for replacement and new structures are currently being designed. Construction is anticipated for the summer 2015. Bridge B-0137 – immediately adjacent to Bridge B-0138 – will be widened for traffic safety. Both Federal and County funds are being used on this $2.6 million project.

Gorsuch Mill Road Bridge over Blackrock Run

Gorsuch Mill Road Bridge, B-0071, over Blackrock Run is scheduled for initial project scoping next year, with construction expected in 2016.

Jericho Covered Bridge

The historic Jericho Covered Bridge, spanning Little Gunpowder Falls east of Kingsville, is scheduled for a major renovation this summer. A detour will be posted. Work on the $2 million project will require about a year.

New Water Pipe for York Road

Baltimore County’s contractors are replacing 9,500 feet of old water line in York Road, between Ridgely and Padonia Roads. The new 24-inch line, double the diameter of the old line, is expected to cost $5 million and take one to three years to install. The project, according to County engineers, is designed “to build redundancy into the system." The County’s contractor, Burgermeister Bell, started the project in April 2010 and may be finished this summer. The project is 97.5 percent complete.
