The Offutt Road Bridge, 2600 block of Offutt Road, which collapsed during tropical storms in September 2011, was given a temporary fix two months later in November to allow one lane of traffic. A permanent repair was planned for this summer but because of environmental and rights-of-way issues, as well as concern for the integrity of Mardella Branch, repairs will begin in April or May 2014. The design work is in progress, according to engineers, and utility relocations are in progress.
