Bellona Avenue in Ruxton

Crews are expected to connect two Ruxton residences to public sewers in June. The project will require closing Bellona Avenue between Maywood Avenue and Old Orchard Lane between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on weekdays for about a month.

Old Pimlico Road Sidewalks

Public Works will construct new sidewalks between Woodbox Lane and the Bais Hamedrash and Mesivta of Baltimore school along Old Pimlico Road. The work should be completed this summer and cost about $50,000.

Enchanted Hills Pumping Station

Crews have started to rehabilitate the Enchanted Hills sewage pumping station off of Reisterstown Roan in Owings Mills. Construction, estimated to cost $1.552 million, will require a year and should be finished by early April 2014.

Offutt Road Bridge: Repairs Postponed

The Offutt Road Bridge, 2600 block of Offutt Road, which collapsed during tropical storms in September 2011, was given a temporary fix two months later in November to allow one lane of traffic. A permanent repair was planned for this summer but because of environmental issues and concern for the integrity of Mardella Branch, repairs will begin in April or May 2014. The design work is in progress, according to engineers.

Bridge Work on Painters Mill Road

Public Works will replace the deck of Bridge Number 103, the Painters Mill Road Bridge over Gwynns Falls in Owings Mills, beginning this year. The $2 million project should start this summer, and take about a year and a half to complete, according to the County’s structural engineers. During the work, traffic will be maintained with three lanes open.

Water Project in Park Heights

Baltimore County is replacing a 54-inch diameter water line between Park Heights and Autumn Drive in the Pikesville Reservoir area. The first phase of the project, estimated to cost $3.5 million, began in late March 2012 and was completed in late June. Work began in October on the second phase and will be completed this month. It is now 98 percent complete.

Montrose Avenue Pumping Station Improvements

Public Works plans extensive improvements to the Montrose Avenue sewage pumping station this year – expanding the facility and enhancing the landscape. The project, which engineers say will take about a year to complete, is expected to begin shortly after the Labor Day holiday this year. The project will cost about $1 million.
