Back to topThe Baltimore County Planning Board will hold a public hearing on the Yorkway Planned Unit Development (PUD), PDM No. XII-153 as well as the Plinlimmon Planned Unit Development (PUD), PDM No. II-793. The Yorkway PUD is located on 12.38 acres in the 7th Councilmanic District on the N & S/S of Yorkway; N Shipway. The PUD calls for 66 single-family detached dwellings. The PUD known as Plinlimmon is located on 105.06 acres of land in the 4th Councilmanic District at 9401 Lyons Mill Road; E Lyonswood Drive. The PUD calls for 646 dwelling units (mix of townhomes and multi-family buildings), as well as 24,000 SF. of retail/office and a community gathering space. Baltimore County Master Plan Amendment - Rural Areas - Public Input Meetings
The Office of Planning is amending the Rural Areas section of Master Plan 2010. The plan was adopted on February 22, 2000, and is slated for its decennial review and amendment. The plan will be amended in sections, beginning with the Rural Areas portion. Other sections will be revised over the next year and a half. Notices will be published regarding all future amendments.
The following public input meetings are scheduled to discuss the Rural Areas amendment to the Master Plan at the following locations:

Rehab for the Patapsco Sewer Interceptor
Baltimore County is spending more than $23 million to clean, line and repair more than five miles of sewer line, which parallels the Patapsco River between I-95 and Annapolis Road. Work began in November and is expected to be finished by late February 2010.

Back to topMajor Fix for the Patapsco Pump Station
The Department of Public Works has begun work to completely rehabilitate the Patapsco Sewage Pump Station, located near Annapolis Road in Halethorpe. The project, which began in November, is expected to be finished by August 2010. Engineers estimate the cost at $16 million.

Back to topTraffic Circle for Old Frederick and Edmondson
Traffic engineers from Public Works met with Catonsville residents at the end of winter to discuss a proposed traffic circle at Edmondson and Old Frederick. The meeting addressed a number of community concerns and the circle will be built to a compromise design in late June or early July. The circle is expected to cost about $150,000.

Hammonds Ferry Road Improvements will be Finished in October
Hammonds Ferry Road in Lansdowne is getting a face-lift. As part of the Hammonds Ferry Streetscape Project the busy street will be resurfaced, tree will be planted, and contractors will install new sidewalks, streetlights, median strips and a new bus stop. The makeover project should be finished by October, say Public Works engineers, who note that curb and gutter work is nearly finished and paving should start in June.

Traffic Calming for Brook Road
Brook Road in Catonsville (between Hilton Avenue and South Rolling Road) recently qualified for traffic calming measures. Public Works plans to construct two speed humps with decorative brick tops this month.

Residents of Dorchester Road recently received approval for traffic calming on their street. Traffic Engineers will submit plans to residents for their review and approval this month. Dorchester Road is located between Johnnycake and Baltimore (ADC Map 4817 D3).
