Maryland Department of Transportation - ADA Site: Accessible Gas Stations. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is a federal law created to provide individuals with disabilities the right to equal opportunity. This act calls for businesses to make their facilities, goods, and services accessible to all people with disabilities. The law prohibits discrimination based upon a disability in employment, government, transportation, public accommodations, commercial facilities, and telecommunications. Maryland Department of Transportation, Paratransit - The Maryland Transit Administration's (MTA) Paratransit program is a service for citizens who are unable to use regular bus, Metro subway or light rail service. Paratransit service is provided by the MTA's Mobility Department and Yellow Van Service, Inc. (Yellow). Yellow is a private company that operates under a contractual agreement with MTA. Maryland Department of Transportation, Reduced Fare For People With Disabilities - People with disabilities, with an MTA photo identification (ID) card, can ride for one-third the regular fare on bus, Light Rail and Metro subway and one-half the regular fare on MARC service. An application, including a signed statement from a health professional, is required to receive a photo ID card. For further information or an application, call the Certification Office at 410-767-3441 or TTY 410-333-2051 for people who are hearing and/or speech impaired. A reduced fare day pass is available. This pass allows customers to ride all day for $1.20. Express and premium charges may apply. Reduced fare monthly passes are also available for $16.50. The passes must be used with a valid MTA photo ID.

Baltimore County CountyRide - CountyRide is a specialized transportation program providing service to Baltimore County resident's 60 years of age and over, disabled residents aged 21 to 59, and those living in the rural area. Destinations include medical appointments, shopping and other general-purpose trips. CountyRide's vans have easy, low-step entrances, and all can accommodate wheelchairs.
