It is the policy of Baltimore County Government to provide equal access for people with disabilities to all of its activities, services, policies and programs. As such, the Office of the ADA Coordinator assists County citizens in gaining greater access to County programs, services and activities. The Office also assists County employees, departments, divisions, and/or offices in ensuring that their programs, services and activities are accessible to people with disabilities.
In addition to the ADA Coordinator, the Office is staffed by Anna Day, Commission on Disabilities Staff, and Surveyor Kenneth Floyd.
The Office of the ADA Coordinator is responsible for:
- Responding to citizen requests for increased access to County programs, services and activities.
- Managing the County ADA Transition Plan - The Matrix for the Accessibility of Public Buildings.
- Managing the County Program, Services and Activity Self-evaluation Plan.
- Assisting County Regulatory Agencies with the enforcement of the Maryland Accessibility Code.
- Surveying and maintaining an accessibility record for County facilities.
