In November of 1998, the Court established the Family Support Services Office to make certain that various services are provided to the parties in appropriate cases. These services may include the following: home investigations in custody and visitation cases; referrals for drug and alcohol assessments and counseling; extended parenting or anger management classes; and supervised visitation or monitored exchanges of minor children. Supervised visitation and monitored exchange may take place at the Court's own neutral location called the Visitation Center of Baltimore County.

The support services were developed to help promote family health and safety and the best interests of the children. These services can be provided based upon an agreement of the parties or may be ordered by a judge after a careful review of the facts in a Family Law case.
