Senior Information and Assistance is now MAP of Baltimore County

Senior Information and Assistance is now Maryland Access Point (MAP) of Baltimore County, servicing seniors and adults with disabilities with information, referrals, and options counseling. MAP of Baltimore County is the point of entry for obtaining information about services and benefits available to seniors, adults with disabilities, their families, caregivers and professionals. The MAP telephone number, 410-887-2594, is the only number needed to begin searching for resources. Certified Information and Assistance Specialists (CIRS) provide comprehensive screening and referrals to link callers to appropriate services and benefits. A computerized resource directory is used to help locate services.

For seniors, the caller may be referred to other Department of Aging specialists, who can provide an in-depth assessment or assist with benefits applications for such programs as energy assistance, homeowners' and renters' tax credits, Medicaid and food stamps. This can be done either at one of the county's 20 senior centers or in the home of an individual who has difficulty getting out.

MAP of Baltimore County provides:

  • Screening and referrals to services and benefits
  • Mailing brochures and booklets on a variety of topics right to your door
  • Guest speakers for your community organization through the Speakers Bureau
  • Information and assistance for seniors and their families
  • Options Counseling for adults with disabilities

Contact MAP of Baltimore County at 410-887-2594 or send an e-mail to aginginfo@baltimorecountymd.gov.
