Adult Medical Day Centers

Adult Medical Day Centers are privately-run programs which provide activities, medical supervision and social support for people whose physical or mental health makes it difficult for them to remain at home alone during the day. Day Centers can be valuable to seniors as they will be around other people, can participate in stimulating activities, and can receive assistance with medication or other health related needs. Day Centers support families who need relief from daily caregiving activities.

Some centers have extended hours and/or weekend service. Many provide transportation. There is a daily fee. For eligible persons, Medical Assistance will cover the cost. Additional subsidies may be available. Specialized Adult Day Programs meet special needs such as mental illness or a specific disability.

Services generally include:

  • Nursing services
  • Nutritional services and meals
  • Exercise and wellness
  • Personal care
  • Medication administration
  • Occupational or Physical Therapy
  • Social activities and Outings

Inquire as to the services and fee schedule before signing admission paperwork or a contract.
