Adult Medical Day Centers

Adult Medical Day Centers are privately-run programs which provide activities, medical supervision and social support for seniors who need a protected environment during the day. They are designed for families who need relief from daily care-giving activities.

Some centers have extended hours and/or weekend service. Many provide transportation. There is a daily fee. However, Medical Assistance will cover the cost for eligible persons, and additional subsidies may be available. Specialized Adult Day Programs meet special needs such as mental illness or a specific disability. Senior Center Plus Programs are supervised social programs.

Senior Center Plus Programs

Senior Center Plus programs are certified by the Maryland Department of Aging as supervised social day programs. They are for people who need some supervision but do not require the level of supervision that an Adult Medical Day Program would provide. There is a fee for attending these programs.
