The Department of Aging has partnered with The Community College of Baltimore County’s School of Health Professions to offer preventative oral dental care to seniors who have no dental insurance. The program, which will provide services through the Dundalk campus Dental Hygiene Program, offers basic preventative dental services to seniors over 60 years of age. Basic services to be provided at no charge include dental screening, cleaning, fluoride treatment and x-rays. In order to take advantage of this great program, you must utilize the transportation services from participating seniors centers through CountyRide. The transportation cost round-trip from the senior center to the college is two CountyRide tickets ($5 cost) or $6 cash. Payment for transportation is due at the time the appointment is scheduled. To schedule an appointment stop by your local senior center during the listed enrollment period and pick up an informational packet. The informational packet contains medical history and other necessary forms that must be completed and brought with you to your scheduled appointment. Preference will be given to current senior center members through a special enrollment period. After that special enrollment, other persons will be able to register if space allows (open enrollment period.) You can get more information about these free beneficial sessions by contacting your local senior center, or call Senior Information and Assistance at 410-887-2594.
