"They Want to Take Your Money"

Being an informed consumer is the best defense against economic crime.

Baltimore County Department of Aging has produced two consumer reference guides to help seniors avoid becoming victims of common scams and frauds including: Telemarketing Scams, Door-to-Door Scams, Mail Fraud, Con Games, Vacation Schemes, Home Improvement Cons, Work-at-Home Scams, Investment Scams, Internet Scams, Hearing Aid Scams, Health Care Fraud, Nursing Home Admissions, Funeral-Related Decisions, and Insurance Scams.

Also included is a Directory of Consumer Resources, listing local and national numbers to report suspected economic crime.

You may pick up a copy of How to Avoid Scams & Frauds and Avoiding Telemarketing Scams & Frauds at any Baltimore County Senior Center, or you may call 410-887-2594 for more information.
