Entertaining and Educational Programs

Learn about Edgemere's special programs and events by reading the "The Edgemere Beacon" (PDF), a monthly newsletter which lists and describes the activities of the month as well as ongoing programs.

We offer a variety of programs to entertain and educate, including cards, watercolor painting, stained glass, exercise and swimming through a partnership with the Community College of Baltimore County, Dundalk Campus. We also have a bowling league that meets weekly at a local bowling alley. Join us for outings with our Travel Committee to visit major tourist attractions throughout the Mid-Atlantic and even the world! Contact the center for specific program schedules and fees.

History of the Edgemere Senior Center

Since 1972, the center has been the core of activity for older adults in the Edgemere community. The center was first located in the Fort Howard Elementary School, then the Edgemere Elementary School, and later, the Fred Myer Insurance Building. In 1999, a new building was constructed at 6600 North Point Road.
